Woman Seeking Treatment For Chronic Pain Over-Medicated & Sexually Abused By Pain Specialist

$250,000 — Woman Seeks Treatment for Chronic Pain Over-Medicated and Sexually Abused by Pain Specialist —

Plaintiff in this case was a 35-year-old woman who was seeing an anesthesiologist who was a chronic pain specialist. Plaintiff had chronic pain after multiple failed back surgeries. The anesthesiologist had the plaintiff on a number of different drug “cocktails” which significantly affected her inhibitions. Plaintiff alleged that the physician inappropriately entered into a sexual relationship with her. The physician denied the sexual relationship and stated that all medical treatment was reasonable. The Law Offices Of Winer, McKenna, Burritt & Tillis LLP was able to find proof which tended to indicate that the sexual relationship existed and that, due to the defendant’s position of power as her doctor and over-medication, plaintiff could not consent to the relationship.

RESULT: Settlement on behalf of plaintiff of $250,000.
